Wednesday, Week 3 | who's that chop chop choppin down my chamber door?
[Look out, City Hall: Suzaku's here with an invisible axe and he's ready to get to work. Out of all the locked doors, the Mayor's Office seems the most interesting...so that's precisely where he's heading.]

However, out of the corner of his eye — he does see a shadow cast down the hallway briefly towards the Mayor's Office before disappearing from sight. ]

Are you going to do the thing? Are you going to make your horror movie debut? ]

Will he? Or will he open it directly? ]

He's gonna just go ahead and open the door, but he'll push it open with the axe, holding it straight out in front of him--just in case there's some sort of trap rigged for intruders. Considering he, like, had his own castle rigged with traps and all that.]

Suzaku just looks silly with his axe like that! However, as soon as he walks in, the door slams behind him. Spoopy, right?
For now, he will be able to view the Mayor's Office in all of it's glory. From the first glance, it looks pretty typical. There's a sofa for guests, a few chairs in front of an imposing wood desk. Plenty of photos of presumably the mayor hanging from the wall, but his face has been noticeably blurred out. A typewriter on the desk with a piece of paper sticking out of it. Rows of books line the shelves with countless medals of an unknown military configuration.
So! This is your candy store, what are you going to do? ]

But seriously, he's going to take his sweet time looking around. He kind of likes the vibe that this place has, especially compared to his hotel room (sorry Craftly). As he circles the room, he'll take a moment to check out the painting (maybe there's a secret safe under it I don't know?), and skim the bookshelves to see if there's anything out of place or of immediate interest, but ultimately spend most of his time checking out the desk. He'll look and see what's going on with the typewriter and the paper inside of it, as well as see if there are any desk drawers that can be rifled through.]

There are a few things on the bookshelf he can glance at that sticks out among the rows: a small boat in a glass bottle with large tentacles wrapping around it, a small stuffed crow on the top shelf, and a thick book that reads Lake Crotin: Yuggoth's First Blessing. ]

It has come to my attention that the radio tower has been scheduled to begin construction July 14th in the South of Yuggoth. I am very pleased to hear this! I was over the moon knowing we were one step closing to another blessing. This city has seen so many hardships over the years and yet, it thrives. I would like to schedule a public tour first thing on such day for groundbreaking. Ms. Phillips has been donated generously with her foundation and I believe with this radio tower, we can finally accomplish the impossible.
I request you schedule a barber ahead of time, I'd like to look cleanly shaven for the photographers.

Odd.
[It seems completely finished. Why was it just left in the typewriter? The Mayer must have been in a hurry to just leave it...whatever happened here must have happened fast.
As expected, he's too preoccupied to notice the shadow initially. After a thorough run-through, if it's still there, he won't miss it a second time as he looks up.]

The shadow flicks behind him, but gone as he looks to his left or right. Could it be paranoia?
What else would he like to look at? ]

Suzaku presses a thumb to one of his temples and closes his eyes for a moment, taking a breath. Maybe he really is just imagining the shadow. There really hasn't been anyone here. How could there be? Ridiculous. These strange feelings of being watched or being played for a fool have been increasing by the day. Not being someone who's much used to feeling so insecure, he does his best to continue ignoring it.
Assuming there are no drawers at the desk for him to break into, he'll grab the letter in the typewriter and fold it neatly into the book to keep as a bookmark and also for future reference (also assuming that he's not stopped in this action), and then look to see if there's anything noteworthy with the sofa.
I mean, better to be thorough than not. And maybe it's just comfortable. Though...he'd probably enjoy sitting behind the imposing desk more, regardless of comfort.]

He'll hear a soft thump behind him, one that is not contributed to paranoia. ]

He whirls around quickly, trying to catch where the noise came from.]

You shouldn't have come here. Return home to the others. You have proof of your bravado.
[ Suzaku will then feel entirely sleepy. He'll pass out, weapon and items in tow. When he awakens in a few hours, he'll be nicely tucked into bed. If he returns later on to the Mayor's Office, he'll find the doorknob reattached. ]
Thank you so much!!!
